What’s new with the 2018 Honda Accord?

In a world of wannabes there remains only one mid-size sedan that delivers on its promises — the Honda Accord. Perfect for travel, commuting, and the everyday. Perfect for families and first-time buyers. A beloved American favorite, the 2018 Honda Accord has arrived and it’s better than ever. Still admired for its reliability and lasting value, here are a few “new” reasons why we’re happy to see the 2018 Honda Accord.

Three Powertrain Options

The 2018 Honda Accord offers three advanced powertrains: a 1.5L engine, 2.0L turbocharged engine, and a two-motor hybrid system. The 2.0L turbocharged engine replaces the old V6 engine and delivers all the horsepower you need — paired with an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission the 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers 250 horsepower. The base 1.5L engine offers 192 horsepower and comes paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission if you opt for the Sport trim. Whichever you choose, all options provide a powerful ride with plenty of zip!

Enhanced Smart Technology

The 2018 Honda Accord is the most technologically advanced Accord to ever hit the streets. Smart tech upgrades enhance everything from the Accord’s driving performance to its drive quality and passenger safety. Now standard on all Accord models is HondaSensing, Honda’s advanced suite of safety technology, which includes:

    • Collision Mitigation Braking System™
    • Road Departure Mitigation System
    • Adaptive Cruise Control
    • Lane Keeping Assist System
    • Traffic Sign Recognition

Furthermore, all models include a multi-angle reversing camera for backup and parking assistance, as well as upgrades to the Accord’s suspension and insulation system — acoustic glass and a new active noise cancelling system were added to guarantee smoother, quieter rides. With the addition of a 7- or 8-inch dashboard mounted touchscreen drivers can easily control their Accord’s tech features with the tap of finger or by turning the new physical knobs.

Fuel-Efficient Hybrid Option

For the most fuel-efficient Accord, check out the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid. The Accord Hybrid comes with all the reliability Accords are known for plus all the smart tech upgrades that are new this model year. At the time of this writing EPA estimates were not yet available for the Accord’s new 2.0 turbocharged engine; however, the base 1.5L engine, when paired with either the six-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission, received a 30/33 city/highway mpg† EPA rated estimate.
