I’m proud to announce that Dublin Honda has earned one of Honda’s most prestigious honors, the Honda Environmental Leadership Award! Why did we get it? How? By reducing our total energy consumption by 10%.
That kind of amazing progress doesn’t just happen over night! Through a series of environmentally-friendly improvements and updates—from the showroom floor all the way down to the bathrooms—Dublin Honda’s building has reduced its environmental footprint considerably. We took the initiative and replaced all of Dublin Honda’s incandescent lightbulbs with energy-saving LED bulbs. Instead of having our toilets and faucets draw on our reservoirs for water, Dublin Honda puts recycled water to satisfy the dealership’s water needs. We even installed low-flow faucets and toilets to keep water usage down.
Honda introduced its new voluntary “green dealer” program in 2001, and it’s been a huge success ever since. Honda makes green strategy recommendations to its dealers based on environmental audits conducted by third party evaluators. They suggest anything from light bulb replacements to solar panel installation all in an effort to curb CO2 emissions and to make the auto industry a little greener.
For over 30 years, Honda has been working to reduce the environmental impact of its products, manufacturing and logistics operations, and facilities in North America and expanding its environmental initiatives to its dealer body was the next step in the company’s effort to reduce waste, energy use, and CO2 emissions across all of its operations. And we’re proud to be part of that green tradition!
Big thanks to Honda for granting us such an honor!
