Haul it all in the 2022 Honda Ridgeline

2022 Ridgeline

The 2022 Ridgeline is here and they’re as rugged and versatile as ever—a perfect fit for both work and family.

Sales of the Ridgeline were up close to 30% in 2021, even amidst supply chain disruptions. Why?  According to Kelly Blue Book, “the Honda Ridgeline is one of the rare vehicles that deftly blends the utility of a midsize pickup with the people-hauling practicality of a refined midsize Honda SUV. And it does so while possessing two of our favorite features, both of which are Ridgeline hallmarks: its novel in-bed trunk and its dual-action tailgate.”

Although the dual-action tailgate may not be the clincher for everyone, there’s no doubt that Ridgeline’s four models—the Sport, RTL, RTL-E and the Black Edition—bring a lot to the table.

The Ridgeline packs a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower, and thanks to automatic torque-vectoring, drivers can select Normal, Snow, Mud, or Sand modes to plow through unfavorable road conditions. Its AWD gives the truck towing power of 5,000 pounds as well as the muscle to carry a payload of more than 1,500 pounds in its 63.6-inch bed.

But what distinguishes the Ridgeline is its interior. Seating five, the Ridgeline is as much crossover midsize SUV as it is a midsize truck. All models feature adaptive cruise control and automatic braking for emergencies.

Ridgeline Sport

The Ridgeline Sport is upholstered in black and comes with an 8-inch infotainment display that controls a 2l5-watt audio system with seven speakers. Other standard features include tri-zone automatic climate control, tinted glass, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and illuminated controls on the steering wheel.

A 60/40 split-bench seat in the back folds up, creating enough room for bikes and camping gear. The back is roomy enough for adults to sit comfortably. Ample storage space is definitely a key benefit of the Ridgeline. The Ridgeline Sport’s MSRP is $37,640.

Ridgeline RTL

The Ridgeline RTL features more luxury with black or gray leather seat upholstery, a one-touch power moonroof and SiriusXM satellite radio as well as heated power front seats. Other upgrades include a power-sliding rear window, a sound-absorbing windshield, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and blind-spot monitoring. The Ridgeline RTL is priced at $40,620.

Ridgeline RTL-E

The Ridgeline RTL-E gives you a boost in sound with a 540-watt system powering eight speakers. More powerful sound is accompanied by a wireless smartphone charger, a heated steering wheel, and very cool, bluish ambient interior lighting. A satellite navigation system with voice recognition and turn-by-turn directions keeps you on track to your destination. Price: $43,570.

Ridgeline Black Edition

The Ridgeline Black Edition is definitely slick, with perforated black leather seat upholstery and ambient interior lighting in red.  You also get 18-inch gloss-black alloy. The Black Edition is available in Crystal Black Pearl. It’s also available in Platinum White Pearl or Sonic Gray Pearl for an extra $395. The Ridgeline Black Edition is priced at $45,070.
