New Features in the 2019 Honda Passport

Making waves and making history, the all-new 2019 Honda Passport made its world debut at the 2018 LA Auto Show and boy do we have a headturner on our hands. The all-new five-passenger Honda Passport joins Honda’s award-winning SUV lineup, slotting between the compact CR-V and three-row Pilot. The Passport’s mid-size build provides more opportunity for off-road adventures while maintaining superb on-road driving refinement. It’s an all-new SUV that has a lot to offer, particularly those in the sporty crowd who appreciate a bit of off-roading flair with renown Honda practicality. Here are five reasons we’re excited for the 2019 Honda Passport to make its way to our lot.

Driving Versatility

Drivers will appreciate the Passport’s fully independent suspension and nimble handling on their morning commutes and on long road trips, just as much as its off-road, all-weather capabilities that make the Passport a dream for weekend adventuring.

Equip your Passport with the available Honda i-VTM4™ torque-vectoring all-wheel drive and four-mode Intelligent Traction Management system (which was actually road tested on the sands of Dubai, muddy roads of Russia, and snowy trails of Minnesota) and watch out world, your Passport is ready to go.

It may have a passport to go anywhere but the Passport is still a Honda, which means it wouldn’t be complete without superior safety. Standard on all four trim levels of the 2019 Honda Passport is Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistive technologies.

With 157.1 cu.-ft. of space, the Passport offers best-in-class interior volume. You might find yourself saying, “Honey, there’s room for more!” after loading your bags and tent and gear and bike and whatever else you want to bring along for a weekend getaway. You’ll love its hidden compartments like its class-leading underfloor storage, and smart storage areas including its cavernous center-console.

And, you’ll love how to access that space. The second-row seatbacks easily fold with the push of a button and it’s easy to care for your Passport after particularly muddy or sandy adventures, because the Passport’s main cargo floor is reversible. What? Yes, reversible! You can switch between carpet and easy-to-clean hard plastic surfaces, which makes cleaning up a breeze.

Modern Living

The Passport is packed. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both available in the 2019 Passport, as is a digital driver’s meter. The Passport’s Display Audio system uses similar gestures as a smartphone (eg., swipe, tap, pinch), which makes it intuitive and easy-to-use. Its full-color digital meter projects the standard vehicle speed and RPM features, but also gives you the ability to customize it by adding on additional features including—audio, trip computer, phone information, and step-by-step route navigation.

Complete the Passport’s refined look however which way you want it because there are a ton of Honda Genuine Accessories designed for the Passport. Including but not limited to—roof boxes, baskets, bike mounts, kayak racks, ski/snowboard racks, running boards, trailer hitches, fender flares, storage bins and more.
